What is an electronic vehicle stability system ESP?

an electronic vehicle stability system ESP

ESP system is actually a traction control system, traction control system compared with other, ESP controls not only the driving wheel and the driven wheel can be controlled. The rear-wheel drive vehicles often appear oversteering, the rear case drift out of control, ESP will slow the outside front wheel brake to stabilize the car; the steering is too small, in order to correct the tracking direction, ESP will brake the wheel slowly, thereby correcting the direction of travel.

ESP system includes ABS (antilock brake system) and the ASR (anti-skid systems), extends over the two system functions. Therefore, ESP regarded as the most advanced form of car anti-skid device. When the ESP system by a control unit and a steering sensor (steering angle of the steering wheel to monitor), a wheel sensor (monitoring of each wheel rotation speed), yaw sensor (monitoring of the vehicle body about a rotation axis perpendicular state), a lateral acceleration sensor (monitoring turning of the vehicle centrifugal force) or the like. The control unit determines the operating state of the vehicle by means of signals from these sensors, and then issuing a control command. There are only ABS and ESP with ASR cars, the difference between them is that ABS and ASR can only react passively, while ESP is able to detect and analyze driving condition and correct errors before they occur. ESP particularly sensitive to oversteer or understeer, oversteer, for example, automobile generates left to the right when the drift (turning too fast) when slippery, the sensor will slide quickly feel the right front wheel brake attached to acclimatize efforts to produce a reverse torque to keep the car in the original lane. Of course, everything has a range of degrees, if blindly speeding motorists, and now any safety devices are difficult to preserve.
