What is F3000?

Introduction

F3000 racing (Formula 3000) is the International Automobile Federation (FIA) in 1985 to develop a set of four racing specifications to replace the Formula Two, which slightly more difficult than Formula one, but is higher than Formula three, so F3000 is to give aspiring F1 drivers to participate in a promotion ladder, many well-known F1 drivers are promoted from the F3000. Name ldquo; F3000rdquo; origin because of the early use of the Cosworth DFV engine car, its volume of three liters (3000cc).

F3000 First held in 1985, to close down since 2005, and replaced with the GP2 Series.
