Currently, automotive headlight light source is divided into three, namely: halogen, xenon, LED.
1. halogen headlamps
is filled with a halogen element such as iodine, bromine or a tungsten halide or tungsten halogen lamp referred halogen. It is a new generation of incandescent.
emitting principle:
is a variant of a halogen incandescent lamp, the same basic principles and incandescent emission, thermal radiation source are . The difference is that a halogen lamp glass envelope is filled with some of the halogen element gas (typically bromo or iodo), when the filament current is received from the vehicle, the temperature may reach 2500 degrees Celsius. From this incandescence light is emitted to the process.
Advantages:
simple structure and low cost; easy to control and adjust the brightness; light color, good penetration; long life than ordinary incandescent lamp, high color temperature, the light emitting efficient.
Disadvantages:
Halogen light emission efficiency is not high; halogen lamp generates much heat, canThe amount of waste is high; light source is not converged, it can not easily concentrate.
2. xenon headlights
xenon lamp (High intensity Discharge) refers to the internal filled with an inert gas mixture includes xenon including no halogen lamp having a high voltage filament gas discharge lamps, xenon lamps HID referred to, it may also be referred to as heavy metal lamp or a xenon lamp.
emitting principle:
is filled by a variety of chemical gases in the UV crystal quartz glass tube, an inert gas such as xenon, then the vehicle through a booster 12-volt power instantly increased to 23,000 volts, at a high voltage, xenon gas is ionized and generates a power source between the poles.
Advantages:
is three times the luminance of a halogen lamp, can greatly reduce traffic accidents at night; high color temperature, color temperature of light can be manufactured 4000-12000, near-noon daylight color, the human the highest degree of comfort and acceptance of the eye; long life; low power consumption.
Disadvantages:
compared to the halogen lamp, further cost both maintenance costs are high; xenon lamp emitting gas inside of the need to reach a certain temperature, which resulted in certain of its delayed; higher color temperatures after emission, xenon lamp light penetration is not good.
3.LED headlight
LED headlamps is manufactured using an LED as a light source of the lighting fixture.
emitting principle:
LED semiconductor component is a solid. When the semiconductor material is energized, only a portion of the power will flow through the semiconductor material, the excess energy is released as light, and thereby converts electrical energy directly into light energy.
Advantages:
reliability, long life and high lumens per watt; solid structure is simple, not easily affected by vibration; fast response.
Disadvantages:
High cost; High heat LED clusters, easily damaged.
